Sequoia Century Rest StopTeam Bikeaholics scored yet another success with their sponsorship of the 100mi/ 200k lunch stop for the Western Wheelers' Sequoia Century Ride, held on Sunday, August 10, 1997. The rest stop, located at the Huckleberry Flat picnic area of Memorial Park on Pescadero Rd., was manned (well, actually "peopled", or perhaps "womyned & manned") by a contingent of Bikeaholics (both front and back views are available). Guido, a full service, Bikeaholic-certified mechanic (aka Tom Lawrence) was also on call throughout the day. A bike-centric "Guide to Useful Italian Phrases" was available to assist language-impaired riders. Most remarkably, at 1:30 PM, the Bikeaholics shattered yet another world-class record, this time for achieving the highest support worker-rider ratio of any club-sponsored century--- 11:1!!!.
